Budan One Touch Coffee Machine Review — Espresso in Under a Minute
My first experience with pod coffee
My first experience with a Nespresso-style machine was almost 15 years ago in Barcelona — I was a total novice and that memory still makes me smile. Back then I only drank black coffee with chicory. Today I grind medium-roast beans each morning and brew them in a French Press. That’s why I wanted to test whether the Budan One Touch could match my expectations.
Compact design and easy setup
The Budan One Touch is very small and fits easily on a kitchen counter or an office desk. Key parts are:
- Rear water tank
- Separate slot for pods and a slot for ground coffee
- Milk container for cappuccinos/lattes
- Three LED buttons — two sizes and a milk option
Setup is simple: fill the tank, choose pod or powder, insert the correct attachment, place a cup and press the brew button.
Fast brewing — ready in under a minute
The machine heats up very quickly. In a few seconds coffee begins to drip and your cup is ready in under a minute. Note that the “large” setting is closer to a double espresso. If you want to use a tall mug, remove the base tray to create more room.
Milk-based coffees
The milk container plugs into the machine and the third button adds frothy milk to the brew for cappuccinos and lattes. A few things to keep in mind:
- Sometimes the cappuccino button does not light up — it worked most of the time, but not always.
- Clean the milk container and pipes right after use to avoid milk residue and bad smells.
Taste test: pods vs ground coffee
I tried the machine with my regular ground coffee and with Blue Tokai pods.
- Ground coffee: Gives a mild cup. The machine accepts a limited amount of powder, so the brew is less strong than my French Press.
- Coffee pods: Produce a much stronger and richer espresso-like shot. Ideal for espresso lovers.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning is simple. The main parts rinse easily and there are no complex mechanisms. The milk parts need more careful cleaning — wash them immediately after making milk drinks.
Price and value
At ₹15,999, the Budan One Touch is a good buy if you want fast, machine-made espresso and occasional milk drinks. It’s compact enough for home and office use.
Who should buy it?
- People who want a quick espresso at home.
- Office users who need a compact machine.
- Those who like pods for stronger coffee.
Final verdict
The Budan One Touch Coffee Machine is fast, small, and easy to use. Pods give a strong espresso-like cup, while ground coffee gives a milder brew. The milk frother works well but needs regular cleaning. Overall, it’s a solid option for anyone who wants quick espresso at home or in the office.
