Apple Launches iPhone 17 with Center Stage Front Camera, Bigger ProMotion Display, and A19 Chip

Apple has officially unveiled the all-new iPhone 17, bringing some of the biggest upgrades to the iPhone in recent years. The new model introduces the innovative Centre Stage front camera, a powerful 48MP Dual Fusion rear camera system, a brighter 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, and is powered by the latest A19 chip for faster performance and efficiency. With all-day battery life, Ceramic Shield 2 for better durability, and iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence, the iPhone 17 is designed to be the most advanced yet.

Stunning Camera Upgrades

The Centre Stage front camera is the biggest highlight of iPhone 17. For the first time, Apple introduces a square front sensor with up to 18MP resolution, ultra-stabilised 4K HDR video, and the ability to capture in portrait or landscape without rotating the phone. It also supports Dual Capture, letting users record on both front and rear cameras simultaneously.

On the back, iPhone 17 features a 48MP dual-camera system:

  • 48MP Fusion Main Camera with optical-quality 2x Telephoto.

  • 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide Camera with up to 4x better resolution, perfect for wide shots and macro photography.

Video enthusiasts get 4K 60fps Dolby Vision, Cinematic Mode, Action Mode, and Spatial Audio recording, making iPhone 17 a complete content-creation device.

Bigger, Brighter ProMotion Display

The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz, making scrolling, gaming, and animations smooth. With 3000 nits peak outdoor brightness and 2x better outdoor contrast, it’s Apple’s brightest display ever.

The new Ceramic Shield 2 offers 3x better scratch resistance and reduces glare, ensuring durability and clarity.

Powered by A19 Chip

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by the A19 chip, built on advanced 3-nanometer technology. With a 6-core CPU 1.5x faster than A15, and a 5-core GPU 2x faster, iPhone 17 delivers next-level performance for gaming, photography, and AI features.

The chip also powers Apple Intelligence in iOS 26, enabling features like Live Translation, smarter AI-driven photos, privacy-first on-device models, and improved performance across apps.

All-Day Battery Life and Fast Charging

Thanks to A19’s efficiency and Adaptive Power Mode in iOS 26, iPhone 17 offers up to 30 hours of video playback. It supports fast charging to 50% in just 20 minutes with the new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.

Connectivity and eSIM

The new N1 wireless chip brings Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support for faster and more reliable connections. Apple continues to expand eSIM adoption, with eSIM-only models available in multiple regions, offering better security and global connectivity.

iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 17 runs on iOS 26, featuring a refreshed Liquid Glass design, Apple Intelligence AI tools, and upgrades across Messages, FaceTime, Maps, CarPlay, Apple Music, and the new Apple Games app.
